This site introduces the Teaching Clinics model developed within the University of Canberra's Faculty of Education. An innovation in teacher education, Teaching Clinics are a means of providing structured teaching experiences within disciplinary studies for teacher education students in school classrooms. The Teaching Clinics are organised and co-supervised by a University lecturer and the classroom teacher. Built on strong professional partnerships between school teachers and academics, the model is gaining international recognition as a unique way of bridging the divide between theory and practice in teacher education.
